Experience
Jamie Gomez has over 20 years of experience in natural resource management. His desire to support sound stewardship through applied science is rooted in a deep appreciation for the natural world. Jamie received a degree in Environmental Biology from Fort Lewis College in 2004. After interning as a research assistant at Pacuare Nature Reserve in Costa Rica, Jamie was able to gain experience with watershed resource management while serving out an AmeriCorps term with the Hood River Watershed Group . After completing his term he began working for the Underwood Conservation District in White Salmon, WA where he worked as a Resource Technician. In 2012 Jamie decided to move back to Colorado and eventually began working with the West Region Wildfire Council, rising through the ranks to eventually become the nonprofit’s Executive Director. In the spring of 2025 Jamie decided to get back to his roots in field based forest management by joining the Spring Branch Forestry team. Feel free to connect with Jamie on LinkedIn.
Experience
Jamie has considerable experience navigating problems to develop and implement practical and real world solutions. Jamie has worked with dozens of landowners, businesses, nonprofits, special districts as well as representatives from local, state and federal government agencies to address issues concerning watershed resources, forest health and wildfire resilience. Throughout it all, Jamie remains solution oriented and relies on consensus building as well as sound science to guide the selection and utilization of practices to advance common goals.
